Back in the day, when you ran an ad campaign to a new audience, you had to get in front of them 7 times on average, before they buy. As modern research evolved, we learned that 7 times is the magic number of influence.
Hence the whole “lucky #7″ thing.
If you were running direct mail of pay per click [ppc] campaigns then you know it takes X amount of views to equal X amount of buys. Most of the time, it is the same person seeing your ad over and over until they click. We all know that if we don’t find exactly what we are looking for online, we keep searching until 1 of 2 things happen.
Thing number 1: we find exactly what we want.
Thing number 2: We settle for the ad we keep seeing over and over. Because it must be relevant, right?
In other words, it costs a lot money to get in front of the right eyes often enough to get that 7th level of influence. Unless, you use the unharnessed POWER of Social Media.
