In case you have been locked in a dark hole, (“It puts the lotion in the basket”) then you are aware that Facebook has a “check-in” feature. That easy-to-use, simple,Facebook check-in can make a BIG difference in how you run AND market your business. I’d like to share with you how I have been coaching small and large businesses alike, to utilize the Facebook check-in feature for all it’s worth. You don’t have to be a social media expert to understand and see the power behind what I am about to share with you. You can also implement these practices into your business tomorrow and with no costs or additional staff needed.

Raving Fan Customers

The #1 and most obvious reason to utilize the Facebook check-in button is to get customers to share your brand with their friends. This not only spreads the word about your business, it shows the people who the word is spreading to, that there are other people happy with you. There are two ways to entice a customer to use the facebook check-in feature while at your place of business. Number one: You can simply ask them. This is by far the most effective way to make them check in. Number two: Give them an incentive i.e., a free gift or discount to check in. Either way, your brand will grow organically.

Employee Advocates

Having your employees share the times when they arrive and leave work has a HUGE impact on your Facebook branding. Some employers have a hard time asking their employees to use their Facebook for business purposes, but in my opinion, if they want a job, they will do what needs to be done. If the average employee has around 400 Facebook friends and they check in at your store 5 times a week, that is pretty powerful [FREE] branding for you. If you have 2 or more employees, you can do the math exponentially. Another benefit of your employees using the Facebook check-in feature is the social proof it provides to others that your employees are proud to be sharing your brand. Businesses that have happy employees attract more customers.

Managing Your Employees Time

From a management space, think of the stealthy way you can use Facebook check-ins to see what time your employees arrive on location and/or leave work. Not only do you get the branding and advertising; you also get to make sure that they are where they are supposed to be when they are supposed to be there. Here is a video I made a while back about the Facebook check-in feature for realtors. This same principle can be applied to any business. Enjoy the free video.
