If you’re not a fan of Dwayne Johnson, that says a lot about you. He’s gotta be one of the best examples of a human, on this planet. He has such an inspirational life story. Everything about the man says he’s the real deal.
I’ve been watching Dwayne really closely over the last 3 years. I’ve watched his work ethic catapult him into the highest paid celebrity in Hollywood position. I’ve paid really close attention to how he’s been able to climb his way up from low budget tough guy movies to Hollywood blockbusters.
According to Forbes, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the highest paid actor in the game right now. He’s literally the top actor on the planet right now. There’s a lot to be learned from someone who’s at the top of their game, and I’d like to share 5 lessons from Mr Johnson that everyone needs to learn.
Pack Your Schedule – I read today that GI JOE 3 is being delayed due to Dwayne’s packed schedule. He’s no fool. He came up from nothing. He knows he needs to get all he can while he’s hot. Hollywood is a place where you can be here today and old news tomorrow. The Rock has a rock solid schedule and will continue to pack it full until it’s no longer possible.
Do The Work – I follow Mr Johnson on just about every social media site out there. Each day I see him check in on Instagram early AF in the gym. Here’s the hardest working guy in Hollywood, with a packed schedule, who gets up at 4am to hit the gym for a couple hours before he endures a long ass work day. Dwayne does the work in every area of his life. His body, his business and beyond.
Over Deliver – Dwayne Johnson is an over achiever. Whatever he sets his mind to, he clearly accomplishes. You don’t get to this position in life by short-changing things. When you set expectations and blow them out of the water, people can’t help but want to pay you more than others.
Know Your Worth – Mr Johnson is the highest paid actor in Hollywood because he’s worth it, and knows what to charge. He has the self confidence to ask to be paid what he’s worth. He knows his worth and therefore those who want to work with him know is worth as well. When you’re the best at what you do, you need to get paid accordingly.
Always Be Ready – When your schedule is packed and you’re a work machine, you don’t get to take days off. Dwayne is in the gym almost every day. Staying shape. For him there is no off season. He’s gotta be camera ready 365. This is important to remember. A lot of actors can’t just take a job on the spot. They have to gain/lose weight etc. Not Dwayne, he’s ready for whatever, when ever. When you’re always in ready mode, you paid ready money.
