As a kid I used to play this game called “Contra” Maybe you’ve heard of it. I still remember the cheat code to get started. It was left, right, left, right, up, down, up, down, B, A start! In the game, you’d play the level, kill dudes, pick up guns and life and work your way up to the big boss at the end. If you beat the big boss, you went on to the next level.

Life is a lot like the game Contra. The level you’re on is difficult but it’s doable. When you get to the end of the level and it’s time to fight the big boss, most people run away scared with their tail in between their legs. The big boss could be divorce, job loss, small commission checks, or whatever test you’re facing. If you let the big boss win, you get send back to restart the entire level.

When I played the game, I would get excited to fight the big boss at the end. That meant I was about to go to the next level. Yet in life, most people fear the big boss, when we should be facing him with joy knowing that when this battle is over we get a new level with new life, guns and shields.

In this video I go into more detail on the subject of facing adversity. Instead of feeling victimized by adversity, you should feel empowered by it. All you have to do is shift your perspective and in this video that’s exactly what I do for you.
