These are the same people who are no longer working in an office. They are now working from home. The easiest way to reach our prospects these days is in the DM.

I see it daily. People send me messages that just say “hi” or “hello” or they jump directly into a sales pitch without building rapport.
You must understand that social media is simply an online alternative universe that works the exact same as the real world we live in. If you just met someone for the first time, you wouldn’t just say “hi”. You’d say something like “My name is Ryan and I love your shoes” or something complimentary to the person you’re meeting. Yet, so many people treat social media differently than they do the real world.
On social media, instead of complimenting someone’s shoes, compliment them on the posts they write. Talk about something they are already posting about. This is how you build rapport with someone and earn the right to ask them for their business. It’s no different online than it is off. The moment you treat social media like you treat real life, is the moment you start to make sales and get life long clients from social media sites.
