Dear Hollywood,
Would you PLEASE stop portraying us salesmen as evil characters? After all, we’re responsible for the success of your movies, merchandise, and we’re the ones who raise the money for your films. You hire us. We support you. Yet you portray us as evil, greedy pieces of sh!t who’ll step over our grandma for a dime.
The way Hollywood portrays salesmen couldn’t be further from the truth.
For every Jordan Belfort, there’s 100,000 Wall St traders earning a decent living, helping their clients build long term wealth. For every Gordon Gecko, there’s 1,000 guys doing well managing billions of dollars in funds. Yet other than Tommy Boy, I’ve never seen a movie about a salesman shown in a positive light.
