A kangaroo is a person who won’t buy. You know, the type that show up wanting free stuff. They know they need what you sell but are always afraid to buy. Often times they hop in and out of sales conversations with you over the course of months or years, only to end up wasting your time.
The problem with kangaroos is you, not them. If the right kangaroo meets the right salesman, the salesman will convert them from kangaroo to client in a matter of minutes. It’s all in knowing how to communicate with them.
Most salesmen get mad at kangaroos and write them off. They settle for the first “no” and then relent when it comes time to close. You may have to work a little harder and have more finesse to close a kangaroo, but the thrill of closing one of those f*ckers is unmatched.
